Now that's a cake!

The Lakes, Westerville, OH

Hello!

So of course the big thing today is the royal wedding. Sadly I remember when I was around 14 or so and I always said I am going to be the girl Prince William marries! My mom fully supported this idea. So that fact he did choose his princess today is a big deal to me. There were two things I wanted to see. Since my degree is in Fashion I was dying to see the dress and designer she chose. The second being now that I am baking I was dying to see this massive cake! Well let me tell you, I am not disappointed on any level with either. Here they are...

This is all fruitcake hand chosen by Kate and Will. It was made by Fiona Cairns.

"We've used Catherine's list of the 'language of flowers," Cairns added. "The 'language of flowers' is something that was used in Victorian times to express, in a coded way, emotions that couldn't easily or openly be expressed in words but [could be] conveyed in flowers. So all the flowers have meanings." For example, the bridal rose symbolizes happiness, ivy leaves marriage, and "Sweet William" flowers, which represent gallantry. - US Weekly

The dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. I love long sleeved and short sleeve wedding dresses so this was beautiful to me and the girl wearing it is even more beautiful. Such a great way to honor McQueen.

I've been seeing posts all week about cookies people were making that represented the wedding and I also saw that Jeni's Ice Cream released royal wedding flavors. I did not get anything made for the occasion but I'm going to be in the kitchen this weekend so I will post what comes out of the oven!!!!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Nerdy and Excited.

Hello!

"Lucy" Polaris, Columbus, OH

So I don't have any new cookies to post today but I am pretty excited because I special ordered a cookie cutter that shipped today. I cannot wait to show you all these cookies. I'm hoping they are going to be awesomely amazing :) I'm hoping to make them this weekend once the cutter is delivered. Another cookie I am going to make is a Nutella cookie. I decided that I am going to make this cookie Gluten free. A lot of parents are cutting out Gluten so why not make one that everyone can eat? Cross your fingers that it is pure yumminess. I am looking for some events that I can market the cookies at. Can anyone help me with this? I mean it's free cookies!?!?! What's better than that? Email me at yellowduckcookies@gmail.com or tweet me @missylinton.

I hope everyone's week is going great despite the rain!

Busy Thursday

Universal Studios, FL

Hello!

I had a very busy Thursday cooking and trying out new cookies. (Go to menu for pictures) The end product was an Iced Blackberry Cobbler cookie, S'more cookies, and Banana Creme Pie cookies. The S'more cookie actually has marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate in them. The Banana Creme Pie cookie has actual bananas mixed in the cookies. I try the most that I can to put fresh fruit in all my cookies that calls for fruit. I also made more cut outs but this time in the shapes of ducks and circles. I tried out the mini cookies and I love them! They are bite size and are gone in 2 bites. Perfect for snacking and dieting!!! Im hoping to try out some more cookies this week. I will post when I do.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter tomorrow and you all get to enjoy your family and friends!

Welcome!

Marietta, OH
HELLO!

Welcome to my new adventure! I will be updating daily about my thoughts on cookies and all things sweet as well as new cookies that are in the oven and getting added to the menu. I have been having friends taste test all the cookies so far and I think they are starting to kind of have a love/hate relationship right now with me! I appreciate all the feed back so far and I am so excited to have more people try my cookies and hopefully fall in love with them. I am cooking two new cookies on Thursday and will be posting them.

Have a great day!!!
